Weather Synopsis for Friday & Sunday
A split flow pattern is generally keeping our region under generally quiet weather over the region, but a weak low drifting eastward and arriving along the central Oregon coast by late Friday afternoon will add some instability and weak shower activity. The shower activity will develop during the afternoon and continue into the evening hours and the activity will focus south of highway 2. Less than a quarter inch of water is expected in all areas, with most areas only picking up a few hundredths of an inch of water. Once the convection dies down in the evening, skies should mostly clear out and are expected to remain clear until another round of slightly weaker, light convection focuses on the mountain regions on Saturday afternoon, with moisture possibly getting north to the Canadian border this time.
Temperatures will be milder than average, with lows Friday night in many areas staying near or above freezing and peaking during the late morning hours before cloud cover increases both Friday and Saturday.
