Avalanche Awareness Classes
The Northwest Avalanche Center offers free Avalanche Awareness Classes to the public throughout our forecast area. These classes are short format, 90-minute, multimedia presentations geared towards the novice wintertime backcountry user.
NWAC will provide the curriculum and instructor. We ask that hosts provide the physical or virtual space, audio/visual equipment (screen or projector, sound capability), and market the event. There is no fee associated with this program.
Help us increase avalanche awareness by hosting a virtual or in-person class this winter! If this type of program might benefit your community, we encourage you to request a class with us. We generally ask that hosts request classes one-month in advance.
Awareness classes requests are open for the 2024/25 season.
