Weather Synopsis for Monday & Monday

The closed low off the coast of California continues to spin a few clouds and some moderate E winds into the Mt. Hood area, but high pressure increasingly dominates the region as it wedges in from the NW. This will bring quiet, sunny, and warmer than average weather with low dew points (dry air). Surface inversion near and east of the Cascade Crest should mix out by late morning and freezing levels should rise 5500-7500 ft by the afternoon. Light E winds at lower levels should die down over Washington State during the day and upper-level winds switch northerly.

Monday night should be clear and mostly calm with a shallow surface inversion bringing cool temperatures to the valleys, while mild near to above-freezing temperatures remain at mid and upper elevations.

On Tuesday, a very weak disturbance passes off the coast of Washington, bringing a band of thin clouds that should be thicker over the Olympic Mountains. This should cool temperatures slightly Tuesday afternoon relative to Monday.
