Weather Synopsis for Friday night through Monday
Generally light snow should continue in the mountains overnight, as a meandering storm system spins precipitation into the southern and eastern portions of the forecast region. The bulk of the storm rotates around the low-pressure creating the highest snowfall totals for locations near the Wenatchee Mountains, higher terrain around Yakima, Mt Adams, and Mt Hood. Most other areas may see a few light snow showers but will experience much drier conditions. Cold air spills into the region Friday evening bringing snowlevels to near 0' for all locations. This should turn even modest water numbers into a few inches of light fluffy snow. Easterly winds increase overnight as offshore winds strengthen. You're most likely to notice stronger easterly winds in the mountain gaps and in downslope locations along the western side of the Cascades.
The low-pressure eventually gets moving again early Saturday, and wanders its way south down the Pacific coast. As it does so, shower activity begins to diminish over the course of the day. Cold air and dry easterly flow help some areas dry out quickly, with the sun making an appearance in locations further north.
Sunday looks like a nice day in the mountains. After a very chilly start to the morning, mostly sunny skies should allow air temperatures to warm. More clouds and a few stray showers could bring another inch or two of snow to places like Mission Ridge, Mt Hood, Mt Adams, and White Pass.

Extended Weather Synopsis for Monday night through Monday
The long term forecast looks pretty dry and we expect a return to a more seasonal pattern. Look for cold and clear nights with warm and sunny days as the region's weather comes under the influence of a high-pressure ridge in the eastern Pacific. This set-up typically forms inversions in the mountain valleys and passes. There's not much in terms of precipitation on the horizon, so sit back and enjoy the sunshine.
