Weather Synopsis for Monday & Wednesday
Fair weather predominates during much of the next 36 hours. Weak troughing gives way to weak ridging on Monday, which remains over the region through Tuesday morning. This pattern maintains light winds, mostly clear/sunny skies, and large diurnal differences in temperatures.
Temperatures are cold early on Monday morning: mostly in the 10's and 20's, but as cold as around 0F at Washington Pass. These temperatures should moderate by Monday afternoon, with temperatures across the region expected to be a notch warmer than on Sunday. A few high clouds near the coast may give some parts of the south Cascades some high clouds during the day, but shouldn't be very thick. Sunday night should be cold and clear once again.
Temperatures should moderate further on Tuesday with gradually increasing WSW or SW winds ahead of a weakening system approaching from the NW. The system should begin to bring some light rain and snow to the mountains of northern Washington State during the afternoon. Snow levels should be around 2500-3000 ft.
