Weather Synopsis for Saturday night through Sunday

Light to moderate snow showers in westerly flow continues to impact the Olympics and Washington Cascades this afternoon with lighter snow showers down near Mt. Hood and a mix of light showers and sunbreaks along the east slopes of the Cascades. Shower intensity and blustery west winds will continue to ease off tonight.

The next frontal system on tap also extends out from the deep parent low in the NE Pacific should reach the coast Sunday morning and work inland during the day. While this system doesn't look like a big snow producer, there should be a burst of heavier intensity precipitation for the Cascades with the frontal passage late morning to mid-day. Winds will once again increase with and following the frontal passage.

Just as showers begin to wind down Sunday night, warm frontal precipitation from a developing low pressure system offshore will move over the area late Sunday night and continue on Monday. Look for stormy conditions to once again develop for most areas with increasing precipitation, warming snow levels and rising winds.
