Weather Synopsis for Tuesday & Friday

A broad trough sits over the West Coast, bringing cool weather to the region. Temperatures were in the 10's and 20's at most NWAC stations as of Tuesday morning. A weakening front approaches the PNW coastline on Tuesday. The front generally fizzles as it moves inland late today and tonight. Models agree that any associated snow will be very light, with the best chances of minor accumulations expected in the Olympics and Mt. Hood areas late Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday morning.

Winds across the region were light to calm as of Tuesday morning and it appears the weakening front will only produce some light SSW winds as it arrives.

Temperatures should be cool once again on Tuesday night, with cloud cover moderating temperatures somewhat.

On Wednesday, a low pressure offshore digs south into California, leaving the Pacific Northwest with some gradually clearing skies and continued cool temperatures as a shortwave ridge moves into the near-shore waters.
