Weather Synopsis for Monday night through Saturday
Upper level ridging over the inland Pacific Northwest will battle with a weak low pressure system off the Oregon coast the next two days. Precipitation associated with this low pressure system should advance as far north as the Oregon/Washington border both Monday and Tuesday with high cloud coverage diminishing closer to the Canadian border. Mt. Hood will likely see measurable precipitation from this system while the south Washington Cascades may see a few drops by Tuesday afternoon. Breezy offshore (easterly) winds will diminish on Tuesday as the low pressure weakens.
A trailing short wave trough will quickly spin up a new frontal system that will push through the Cascades mid-day Wednesday. This should bring a decent shot of winds to the Mt. Baker area late Tuesday night and Wednesday along with 12 hr precipitation totals around 0.50" for a few areas along the west slopes of the Cascades. While snow levels will lower, they will unfortunately stick around the 5000-6000' range.

Extended Weather Synopsis for Saturday night through Saturday
Get ready for a pattern shift as we leave our dry and mild March behind us.
Post-frontal showers should taper down quickly Wednesday night. The first in a series of fronts stretching through next week should arrive on Thursday. While forecast models agree on a progressive, unsettled weather pattern, the GFS model continues to point to a more winter-like strength storm for Friday while other forecast models indicate a weakening frontal system. Snow levels will stay in the 4500-6000 range through the end of the week but are likely to cool further into next weekend.
