Weather Synopsis for Saturday & Monday
The Pacific Northwest sits under weak SSW flow aloft on Saturday with weak troughing offshore. The pattern features mid and high-level clouds moving northward and generally decreasing slightly across the region on Saturday, with some isolated rain or snow showers embedded in the SSW flow. The air mass will become slightly unstable in the afternoon, increasing the chances of isolated rain or snow shower activity.
Overnight, the atmosphere should stabilize, but a weak upper low is likely to form over eastern Washington before lifting NE and exiting the area on Sunday evening. This feature is expected to maintain generally cloudy skies across the Cascades with some very light rain or snow, particularly along the E slopes. Partly cloudy skies are expected in the Mt. Hood and Olympic regions on Sunday.
Winds should remain light throughout the forecast period with mild and generally diurnally influenced temperatures.
