An upper trough moves to the east during the day on Sunday. A ridge builds over the region Sunday night with the ridge axis over the coastal waters. On Monday, the ridge continues to build over the region with the axis along the U.S. coastal waters.

Extended Weather Synopsis for Saturday night through Saturday

The major ridge and dry, warm airmass will continue to amplify over the western US west coast from Tuesday through Thursday. A surface high pressure becomes established east of the Cascade crest, starting Tuesday, which will cause east winds in the Cascade passes.
