Weather Synopsis for Monday & Tuesday
A weak upper and surface ridge moved over the Northwest on Sunday. Judging by the RH's at the NWAC weather stations the clouds didn't let up much west of the Cascade crest but it looks like it was a nice day east of the crest.
A weak front crossed the Northwest Sunday night and spread some light to moderate rain and snow to Mt Hood Sunday night and some light rain and snow to the Olympics and Washington Cascades Monday morning. Temporary decreases in light rain or snow should generally be seen following the front.
A weak upper and surface trough and cool slightly unstable air mass will move east across the Northwest Monday and Monday evening. This will cause bands of showers and a chance of thunderstorms near and west of the Cascade crest. The Sunday afternoon UW WRF model indicates convergence between Mt Baker and Stevens Pass Monday evening.
A weak upper and surface ridge will cross the Northwest and give a minor break in the weather on Tuesday morning with some sun and and slightly warmer temperatures.
A fairly large upper trough will begin to form over the northeast Pacific Ocean late Tuesday. An initial shortwave and surface low will begin to rotate out of the trough and begin moving north over the Oregon coastline Tuesday night. This will cause E-SE crest level flow, with clouds and rain and snow beginning to move north over the Olympics and Cascades Tuesday afternoon and night.

Extended Weather Synopsis for Tuesday night through Tuesday
The fairly large upper trough will linger over the northeast Pacific Ocean Wednesday to Friday. More upper shortwaves and showers will rotate out of the trough and over the Northwest with specific timing not practical at this time. Showers should generally favor the volcanoes. Snow levels will be pretty low for this time of year.

The NWAC program is administered by the USDA-Forest Service and operates from the National Weather Service Forecast Office in Seattle. NWAC services are made possible by important collaboration and support from a wide variety of federal, state and private cooperators.
The NWAC will issue daily mountain weather and avalanche forecasts through Saturday, April 15th. Mountain weather and avalanche forecasts will be issued during the spring transition April 20-22nd and April 27-29th. Weekend outlooks will be issued Thursdays, May 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th.
