Weather Synopsis
The radar is "filling in" this afternoon as a slow-moving frontal system edges inland. The frontal system will pass inland tonight, spreading light to moderate rain and snow to all areas, then turning to snow showers after midnight. Snow showers will linger longest through Saturday morning for the Cascades of Whatcom and Skagit counties, closer to an upper-level trough offshore.
Saturday afternoon, showers will become isolated throughout the Olympics and WA Cascades, but a new warm front will spread light snow into the Mt Hood area and perhaps into the far southern WA Cascades just north of the Columbia River during the afternoon hours. Between Friday and Saturday afternoon, the mountains should see a few inches of new snow, with the most between the Mt Baker area and the Mt Loop highway (6-12" in these areas). There should be a robust cloud shield extending from the trough offshore, extending over much of the area, with perhaps a few sunbreaks for the Olympics and northern Cascades Saturday afternoon.
The aforementioned warm front should bring continuing light snow to the Mt Hood area and south WA Cascades Saturday night. On Sunday, we're likely to be between large-scale weather features, with a deep upper trough digging off the coast, and high-pressure ridging over the 4 corners/SW US. This should lead to relatively quiet weather, but cloud cover is tough to pin down, depending on which feature exerts more influence. Freezing levels/temperatures won't be cold, but 5000' temperatures should stay below freezing.
325PM Update: Fixed typo in the sensible weather for Snoqualmie Pass and West North.

Extended Weather Synopsis
Forecast confidence decreases rapidly as we move into Monday. The deep upper trough over the Pacific coast will send a few waves of moisture from south to north Monday and Tuesday, likely resulting in periods of light mountain snow. This doesn't look like a major snow producer, and it's too early to nail down specifics. Snow levels nudge lower mid-week towards next weekend, and our forecast models are hinting that the storm pattern will pick up, all good things for winter weather if it comes to fruition.
