Weather Synopsis for Friday night through Saturday
Our unsettled and unseasonably cold weather pattern continues as we head into the weekend. A weak storm passing over the region Friday should maintain scattered showers in the mountains into the evening hours. As this disturbance exits, most locations see drier and sunnier conditions Saturday. This break looks shortlived as a low-pressure system approaches the Oregon coast and begins to spin precipitation into the area late Saturday afternoon/evening.
You're most likely to see scattered snow showers at Mt Hood and other areas south of Mt Rainier first. As the low draws closer, precipitation could spread up the Cascades with scattered snow showers in most locations Saturday night and Sunday. The position of this storm will cause winds to shift and draw moisture into the mountains from the east. When this set-up occurs, we can see increased snow in locations along the eastern side of the Cascades such as the Wenatchee Mountains. This storm doesn't appear particularly impressive, and water amounts look modest. However, due to the showery nature of the precipitation, some locations could experience locally heavier snowfall.

Extended Weather Synopsis for Saturday night through Saturday
The low-pressure system responsible for most of the precipitation over the weekend slowly meanders its way across Oregon and causes shower activity to decrease Sunday night and Monday. Spring-like weather settles into the area as the storm exits. Look for warm sunny days and cold mostly clear nights as we head into next week. The long-range forecast looks warm and dry.
