Weather Synopsis for Saturday night through Monday
Cold seems to sum up the current weather and overnight forecast. Freezing levels will bottom out near 0' in all locations. Offshore flow should continue to drive moderate to strong easterly winds even at lower elevations. Combine the cold air with the wind and you get wind chill values below 0F. A few scattered showers could linger into the evening for areas in the southern and eastern portions of the forecast region as the exiting weather system slowly ambles its way down the Pacific coast.
Expect a downright frigid start to the day Sunday for all locations. After that, how warm you get will depend mostly on the sky. Areas north of I90 seem to dry out quickly allowing sunny skies for places like Mt Baker, Hurricane Ridge, and Washington Pass. As a result, temperatures in these locations will warm swiftly late in the morning. Further south, the same low-pressure system continues to spin clouds and a few stray showers up through Oregon into southern Washington. In cloudier areas, temperatures will struggle to rise, and cold easterly winds will only help to keep you feeling chilly. Passing showers could drop another inch or two of snow in places like Mt Hood, Mt Adams, and White Pass, but most other areas should be dry.
This will start our transition into a dry pattern of cold mostly clear nights and warm sunny days. Consequently, Sunday night temperatures fall rapidly after sunset. On Monday, we see them rise again. This diurnal swing should hang with us at least through early next week.

Extended Weather Synopsis for Monday night through Monday
Breakout the sunglasses and don't forget your sunscreen. As we look into the extend forecast things appear dry, with warm sunny days and cool clear nights. The atmosphere seems to gradually warm day by day as we come under the influence of a high-pressure ridge in the eastern Pacific. Expect temperature inversions in the mountain passes and valleys as the ground cools each night but the mid and upper elevations stay warmer. Weather models diverge a bit by Wednesday, but most agree this pattern hold through the week.
