Weather Synopsis for Monday & Saturday
A weak upper level trough over the region this morning will slide east with upper level ridging building during the afternoon. Light snow associated with the upper level feature will come to an end this morning but scattered light snow showers should stick around for the west slopes of the Cascades and Mt. Hood through the afternoon. Even though there's a drying trend aloft, clouds should stay in place for much of the west slopes of the Cascades through the daylight hours. There should be more sunbreaks along the east slopes of the Cascades, close the Candian border and over the Olympics today.
The weather pattern is fairly quiet through Tuesday. Weak upper level ridging will quickly move over our region tonight tomorrow. A weak Pacific frontal system should reach the Washington/Oregon coast by late Tuesday afternoon. This system will spread clouds inland during the afternoon.
