Weather Synopsis for Thursday & Monday

Warm frontal moisture extending from a weak surface low off the central B.C. coast in NW flow aloft will continue to produce light to occasionally moderate precipitation mainly for the central and south Washington Cascades and the Mt. Hood area this morning. Since it's spring-time, this usual snow producing pattern will be affected by subtle day-time warming which will bump up snow levels 500-1000 ft this afternoon.

Precipitation rates should ease a notch mid-day before a trailing occluded front passes through the Cascades late afternoon, increasing precipitation coverage across the entire area and forming a Puget sound convergence zone directed toward the central Cascades. This convergence band should shift to the south Thursday night toward Paradise/Crystal area before tapering off Friday morning.

Upper level ridging will build overhead on Friday but onshore flow will keep the west slopes of the Cascades, Olympics and Mt. Hood cloudy and cool with light drizzle possible. More sunshine is likely the further east of the Cascade crest.
