Weather Synopsis for Friday & Tuesday
The high-amplitude upper-level ridge remains just offshore with temperatures aloft continuing to warm throughout the region. A NW flow aloft and mild subsidence associated with the ridge are keeping moisture, clouds and fog trapped in the lower levels with a temperature inversion in place from about 4000 to 9000 and multiple freezing levels observed in some locations. To the east of the Cascade Crest, some areas may experience freezing fog. Clearing is possible in some areas late in the day or evening hours as, particularly just west of the Cascade Crest as flow shifts slightly easterly for a few hours, before shifting back westerly.
The weather pattern is expected to continue unseasonably warm and warming aloft into Saturday. Low-level moisture gradually decreases Friday night and Saturday, allowing the low-level clouds to gradually dissipate. The inversion should weaken low-level temperatures are expected to warm in many areas by Saturday afternoon. Winds aloft will remain light to moderate.
