Observations

We found large 1-2cm surface hoar on the snow surface and multiple facet layers below, often with thin decomposing crusts. CT21Brk and ECTN 18 on small facets 30cm from the surface and ECTN 25 on small rounded facets 35 cm below. HS 85-100cm in this sheltered easterly area. With the new storm load and high SW winds, we anticipate the natural cycle to be well underway by late Sunday night at multiple aspects and elevations.
