Observations

Bounced around the Pass a little bit, taking a rest day to catch views, friends, and dig in the snow a bit.

Wind moving snow atop Chair 2 by 11. Alpental Patrol closed the Back Bowls due to a natural slide around then. Snow began in earnest a little after noon, with a substantial graupel component; easily a couple of cms by 4pm.

Snow-profile photos are from near the top of Silver Fir in late afternoon. Snowpack tests were largely unreactive, but the crusts are quite prominent. Shovel-tilts seemed to find a failure at the interface buried on 12/29-30.
