Observations

Skied SE to SW facing slopes at 5,100 to 6,000 feet near Paradise (Henry's Rib, Marin County Bowl and below Valley Road). Snow was great deep powder for skiing, but more consolidated and slightly heavier than experienced previous days in other areas (Steven's and Blewett pass). Test slopes showed no instability and hand shear tests showed no propagation. There was evidence of previous point release dry loose sluffs (D1) on the steepest slopes in the bowl, but overall the snow felt very solid and we did laps on 35-45 degree slopes. On Marin County Bowl a thin sun crust was present on some S aspects on 35-40 degree slopes that was not present on other runs.
