Signs of Unstable Snow

Observations

We performed 3 hand shear tests along our skintrack and the last one resulted in a 35cm deep failure. This last test was at 5200' in Cocaine coulior (SSW aspect) on the skiers left hand side, where the snow seemed higher density than out right. Due to this test we turned around at 5300'. No other signs of avalanche activity during the day.
