None reported

Observations

Experienced temps in the 20F - 30F range with gusts coming from the S to SW. Snowfall ranged from S1 to S3 throughout the day on the pass. Winds were transporting new snow onto N and NE facing slops and I found reactive wind slabs below and at treeline on a couple test slopes. New snow and any wind deposited snow is currently sitting on a crust from the last major storm cycle and it did not appear to be bonding well. Fortunately, the snow did appear to be bonding well below this and I did not notice any other major issue areas around a crust which can be found around 30cm. No signs of cracking or collapsing on non-wind loaded slopes. No avys observed in the area.

Advanced Observations

Observed Avalanche Problem #1:
Wind Slab
Comments:
Found a reactive wind slab below tree line and at tree line on N to NE facing slopes. New snow did not appear to be bonding well to the crust that formed after the last major storm cycle.
