We started from Eagle Creek and ventured towards Chumstick Mountain. We were on the lookout for wind slab on exposed ridges, and saw lots of blowing snow, variable and high winds from the west. We wanted to see if the surface hoar reported by Mission Ridge had made it over to this zone, but hand pits did not show and signs of this instability. There were lots of wind loading, scoured slopes and blowing snow. Small hand pits showed consolidated wind slab on isolated slopes confirming today's forecast . We covered lots of terrain via sled and saw pretty low HS totals throughout the zone.
