Observations

Took advantage of the perfect mid-winter weather on 12/20 and traveled out to Ptarmigan Ridge and back over Table Mountain. We experienced pleasant weather all day - CLR to SCT skies and calm to light winds. Though we did not witness any significant signs of instability on the N-W slopes we traveled on, we avoided steep convexities with numerous crowns of natural avalanches from the 12/18 - 12/19 avalanche cycle reminding us that large wind slabs were likely still present in the terrain. We also observed surface hoar in sheltered terrain, with the largest grains pushing 1cm deep in the Wells Creek basin.

Media

Looking out towards Lasiocarpa Ridge revealed evidence of strong winds, with bare ground exposed in a few locations
