HS 120 @5900ft, SE aspect.
E/SE Wind 10-20mph
Dug a profile @5900 and observed all the recent storm snow. Storm snow was in 3 visible layers, with the snow consolidating the deeper you went. December rain crust is down about 110cm here, very close to the ground. 3-4cm crust and melt/freeze features below, however, snow seems well bonded at crust.
Compression tests on recent snow resulted in:
CTM-3 @ 20cm down
CTM-7 @ 45cm down, mid storm layer
CTH- 3 @70cm down
Snow sheared RP and did not fall from column on all tests.
