Comments:
Saw an avalanche on the snow field on the looker's right side of the base of Cat Scratch Gully on the approach towards Forbidden Peak in Boston Basin. The slide happened around 5:30pm as we were descending from the west ridge of Forbidden Peak. It was a very hot day (90 degrees in Marblemount) and avoids most of the approach terrain. I heard the slide and saw the remnants, my climbing partners saw it actively happen.

We avoided the snow field on our descent and did not get a close look.

Observations

Saw an avalanche on the snow field on the looker's right side of the base of Cat Scratch Gully on the approach towards Forbidden Peak in Boston Basin (SW aspect of Forbidden Peak). The slide happened around 5:30pm as we were descending from the west ridge of Forbidden Peak. It was a very hot day (90 degrees in Marblemount) and avoids most of the approach terrain. I heard the slide and saw the remnants, my climbing partners saw it actively happen. Active rock fall started happening nearby too.

We avoided the snow field on our descent and did not get a close look.
