Left car at 2 pm aiming for cache couloir going around snow lake divide rather than up chair peak basin. Windier than expected up high. Wind effect above east side side of couloir and on ridgeline was visible and snow was slabbing off while skinning (see photo). Weren't comfortable so bailed and skied Hayden’s Hallway. Crusty on sun affected faces. NW faces held excellent dry powder (near standard uptrack from snow lake).
