Signs of Unstable Snow

Did you see shooting cracks?
No
Did you experience collapsing or whumpfing?
Yes, Isolated

Observations

Significant increase in snowpack above 4000 feet. Estimate 12 to 18 new inches. Snow was drifted and wind affected on the summit ridge. Large cornices noted, mostly to the north of fhe ridgelines. In some areas along the ridge firm windpacked layer on top would collapse deeper once we stepped on it.
