Comments:
R2-D2, 400’ wide, crown height 1-4’. Avalanche ran about 350’. Entrained new snow from last 48 hours. Appeared to fail on buried crust.

Signs of Unstable Snow

None reported

Observations

New snow from previous 48 hours measured between 35-50cm on favored slopes. Ski pen was consistently in the 35 cm range. Hasty pits had easy to moderate results NTL at new/old snow interface approx. 35 cm down. Avoided ATL locations after witnessing recent avalanche activity.

Avalanche near chief col. Ran in early morning hours, no new snow on debris at 1100.

Observed Avalanche Problem #1: 
Dry Loose
Comments: 
Countless dry loose avalanches on steep cliff bands. Many failed overnight, but witnessed some during the brief period of sunshine during AM hours.
Observed Avalanche Problem #2: 
Wind Slab
Comments: 
NTL locations had small wind slab formations around convex rollovers. Mostly unreactive to ski cuts.
