Observations

East winds from 3/9 have destroyed the east facing alpine bowls. West winds were reloading the scoured slopes at the tops of Hogsback near noon. Cross loading of slopes above Miriam lake gaining the bench. Kick turns cracked 2-3 feet in the lee pillowed areas. Skinned part way up the far treed ridge leading towards shoe lake. Cracking at the top of the bowl during ski cut but no release. Wind slaps are around 1-1.5 ft deep. Only observed evidence of one small slab at the top of the ridgeline below cornices in steep terrain. Best skiing was in sheltered terrain at treeline.

Media

One bowl east and down from shoe lake, south and west facing slopes.
Walking across bench, cross loaded on east facing trees below bench.
Zoomed in phone photo of small slab beneath cornice, probably occurred with switch to west winds, but not so recent that debris was observable.
