Observations

The tree wells are at least 10 feet deep.

So while not technically an avalanche, this cycle of excellent light, dry, deep pow has created fairly significant non-avalanche snow burial risk in deep snow drifts and tree wells. We've had one tree well asphyxia in Oregon this year already and one deep snow asphyxia last year. Be careful. Ride w a buddy and stay in voice and visual contact. if you're the last one in a group tandem skiing a slope, hoot and holler so the folks in front know you are still behind them.
