Signs of Unstable Snow

Observations

Short field trip in the Paradise area for Avy 1 class. So much dry powdery snow, I was up to my hips most places. Dug a snow pit for class, about 120cm of newer snow on top of a crust (Feb 25?). Column and extended column tests produced only partial non-planar breaks limited to the area below the shovel. No propagation in the ECT. Snow got slightly slabbier as I you went down from the surface but no obvious layers or crusts in the top 120cm

Lots of wind and snow throughout the day.
