Toured from the Narada Falls lot to Castle saddle. Started out under clear skies, but high thin clouds moved in around 2:00. The sun was strong enough to generate some wet surface snow on solar aspects at lower elevation. Calm winds.
Encountered higly variable conditions, finding almost every conceivable form of snow: surface hoar, sastrugi, crusts, hot pow, sugary facets, and so on.
Some minor wet loose activity below rocks getting direct sun, but otherwise saw no avalanche activity today. Although signs of wind transport were everywhere, we never experienced shooting cracks or other signs of instability.
