Observations

Skied into Crystal Lakes basin hoping to find deep low density powder of past week. Instead found upside down 10cm of fist hard powder on 20cm of 1 finger snow, on top of 20cm of fist to 4 finger snow.

Did a hasty pit on West aspect at 6000’ and found Q1 shear with very little pressure at ~20cm, and Q1 shear with very little pressure at ~70cm seemingly on stellars. Did not have saw for CT/ECT.

Observed a D1.5 natural hard slab at 6000’ on NW aspect in cliff apron which seemed to step down from 20cm layer to 70cm layer.

Skied relatively low-angle trees in fun snow.
