Small D1 avalanches observed at 3500' NE in the icicle off of steep cliffs. We found 100cm HS and about 20cm of fresh snow down to the Christmas crust which varied in thickness from 10-25cm thick. Got a CTVE SP result that broke under the crust layer (broke on isolation) and very planar. New snow above the crust seemed well bonded and only produced small dry loose. Crust was very supportable on skis but boot pen was over 50cm. As we left the temperatures seemed to increase and we were getting increasing rollerballs at the bottom. Traveled in simple terrain below treeline.
Apologies for the pit photo, it was very haste.
