Signs of Unstable Snow

Above Mirror Lake. 4380' SE Aspect. Dug pit. Snow was approximately 80 to 95 cm tall varying due to boulder field it was on. Performed shovel tilt test. Block failed ~30cm from surface after 4 taps. Sudden Planar fracture. ECT performed. ECTN9 at 65cm with a 5cm propagation. ECTN16 at the known weak layer at ~40cm with 40cm long propagation. Continued and was able to get a failure on tap 25 at the rain crust. Skied in the Outback area of ski bowl. No obvious fractures during ski down.
