Toured up to Pineapple Pass. Observed and experienced shooting cracks consistently above tree line on northern aspects in the Alpental Valley. propagation/shooting cracks produced on skin track. Inconsistent slab propagation when descending. Snow failing on top layers only, it seemed. Wind crust or wind slab. Snow felt hollow and ski track collapsed on multiple occasions.
