Signs of Unstable Snow

Observations

As we climbed the Granite Creek trail towards the junction to turn off for Granite Lakes we encountered progressively deeper snow. Great snow quality- powdery and fluffy. Temperatures in the low 20s (estimated). Eventually we were breaking trail in hip-deep snow. I observed what appeared to be sloughs that had already happened on the steep slopes across the valley.
