We traveled up to 8800' in the Eldorado zone. We found rain saturated snow up to ~5500', with precip turning to snow at ~5000'. Above 8000' we encountered light blowing snow and drifts up to 4-6" on leeward slopes. We noted that many steep faces on all aspects still held considerable amounts of snow and shed when the sun was out, but never propagated larger slides on the slopes below. Snow surfaces ranged from mush to sun crust to corn to wind deposited pow.
