Comments:
Observed wet loose on solar aspects during these days were all small (≤ D1) due to strong nightly refreezes and stout crusts at elevations above 3k.
None reported
Most notable was impressively sustained E and NE winds on 4/13-14 at and near ridgelines causing ample snow transport and making alpine travel somewhat miserable.
Consistently favorable travel at lower and mid elevations ranged from seemingly deep and solid crusts on solars to dry snow on shaded aspects down to 4.5k. Deep and unconsolidated dry snow (15cm ski pen) on northerly aspects above 6.5k.
Large cornices loom at ridgelines.
