Signs of Unstable Snow

Did you see shooting cracks?
No
Did you experience collapsing or whumpfing?
Yes, Isolated

Observations

We were traveling on the N side of Chair Pk around 12:00pm on our way to the normal exit route when we experienced a whumpf at about 4900’. It was heard/felt by myself and my partner who was about 30 feet away from me. Given the sign of instability (albeit possibly isolated) we reverted to our alternate plan of descending the heavily skied Cache Couloir. We did not observe any tracks on the N slope heading to the N slope exit. All but two sets went to the Cache. The set of two belonged to the party that triggered the slide reported yesterday (4/9).
