Patchy snow coverage up to 3800’, then pretty good coverage above that on the eight mile trail. Solid overnight freeze. Above 6200’ on NE and E aspects we found a winter snowpack still. It consisted of a ski supportable melt freeze crust with dry snow underneath. Boot pen was variable but mostly between 10-20cm. On a shaded and perhaps more northerly feature between 7200 and up we found dry snow with no crust. More east facing slopes had a stout mf crust that never really softened up. Pulled around on some southerly aspects at 7600’ around 1:30pm and it was just getting a bit too soft for comfort.
