Size 2: Could bury, injure, or kill a person
Elevation:
4700’
Aspect:

Comments:
Multiple large glide avalanches in the Alpental/Chair Peak area, including one that occurred during our day tour(between 10-2pm). Off the rock slabs above the Bryant Peak Couloir. Very large debris pile (D2.5), for size of rock panel exposed. It seems the glide paths are waking up, and there’s far more than normal amounts of snow coming down with them.

Signs of Unstable Snow

None reported

Observations

Very warm and sunny (42 degrees at 5000’ at 2pm). Very large cornices are beginning to bend more to gravity, and it seems water is working its way lower in the snowpack, nearly isothermal one spots.
