Observations

Toured from CW basin up Kendall trees, down to middle lake then to upper lake, the ridge above Silver twins, and back down through trees. 10-15cm of new on wet crust. New snow was a mix of graupel and other forms with graupel the predominant feature. Snow in trees wasn't impacted greatly by the winds from Sunday/Monday. Open areas had wind skins and some slabs forming. Ridgeline above the twins had soft(er) slabs formed. but they weren't very cohesive. Cornices are big above KAZ and it doesn't look like there was much debris in that bowl... yet.

Above Trees there was a bunch of hard debris from older slides semi-buried by new snow. The snow in Trees was smooth and fun.

Overall felt good about conditions except near ridgelines and cornices.

Advanced Observations

Observed Avalanche Problem #1:
Wind Slab
Comments:
Observed wind slabs forming near ridgelines about 5200'. Hardness of 4F, but likely to stiffen as the temps decreased overnight. Fairly localized to within 30m (elevation) of ridgelines
