Observations

Traveled the usual winter route up. Left the parking lot at 8. Once at the tree line there was clearly wind affected snow on easterly aspects of ridges and icy on the top of the ridge itself. By around 11 the snow had started to soften and rollerballs started appearing. The top 2000' or so were above the clouds most of the afternoon and the snow got pretty soft and sticky. We saw large groupings of rollerballs of various sizes in isolated areas. Both triggered by skiers and naturally occurring.

Media

Large group of rollerballs, bordering on a small wet/loose avalanche believed to have been triggered by a skier on the east side of a small ridge right at the tree line
