Avalanche Obs: Ski cut a small sz 1 wind slab in the lower crux of the Crooked Couloir. Slab was 4F in hardness and propagated approx. 15 feet in front of ski tips. Broke down 15 cms and ran for approx. 100 feet. Numerous natural loose wets up to D1 were observed on the upper Phantom, with widespread pinwheeling.
Snowpack Obs: Generally a weak over strong snowpack setup. Some hand shears saw moderate but resistant results down >30cms on a storm interface.
Weather Obs: Patchy clouds, sunny and warm in AM & PM. Low valley cloud in AM.
Travel & Terrain Choice: Skinned up the Phantom trees to the upper slidepath, skied the Crooked Couloir. Skinned back up to Thunder Col, and hiked back up the upper Phantom. Skied the upper Crooked again to access the North Bowl of Snoqualmie, and skied the Phantom Trees out to the car.
