Signs of Unstable Snow

Observations

Storm snow from Monday night is upside down with what looks like significant warming before ~7am. Top 6-8" was very heavy on top of lighter density snow with some cracking and breaking off in small blocks on the skin up and ski down but didn't seem to be forming a cohesive slab anywhere in the trees. Stayed well below tree line and only got up to around 4,500'. Riding conditions ok but the snow is much heavier than anticipated.
