We skied the Zipper and the Fly today on Lane peak. Snow in the trees was firm and hard to ski, as there is not much notable accumulation on top of all the tree bombs. Open slopes had ~4" of medium density fresh snow on top of older, harder snow.
In the chutes we experienced significant sluffing of the new snow. The older snow surface below is still very uneven due to previous slides. In some sections, we found ~1" wind-transported snow that would break off as a more cohesive slab (see photo).
