Observations

Terrain: Short tour in the White Pass backcountry including Hogback, Miriam Lake, and Gunsight areas. N-E-SW near treeline

Avalanche: Two small loose wet avalanches from yesterday out in 2nd Bowl. 1 very large old slide clearly visible out in the Goat Rock N aspect ~7000' see photo. This likely ran last weekend or during the 2/23 atmospheric river.

Snowpack: Very aspect dependent. N: cold dry settled snow over the 3/5 crust. Some wind affect and thin slabs in very wind exposed terrain. Recent snow 6-8" (15-20cm).
S: upper 8-10" (20-25cm) melt forms over the 3/5.

The rest of the upper snowpack regardless of aspect: strong rounded grains with occasional thin crust. Well settled. No significant test results.

Weather: Sky: Few, Winds; Light SW, Precip: NO. Wind Transport None. Very nice day. Warm in the sun. Cold in the shade.
