Observations

On sun affected slopes we found a breakable sun crust in the morning that made for difficult downhill travel conditions. By midday, the sun crust had broken down to become 2-3 inches of wet surface snow.

We could see widespread rollerballs from both yesterday and today. Very small test slopes in the sun produced small wet loose sluffs, but did not entrain any deeper snow. Small wet loose avalanches were visible, usually initiating in steep rocky terrain.

On shaded slopes, we found dry, light snow and good skiing.
